Centurions Defense, Discretionary Tactics keeps the operator’s mental faculties in control to better assess situational awareness, adhere to the ROE, and avoid any unnecessary collateral damage. If a situation breaks down and lethal force must be used, Discretionary Tactics training teaches the operator to be mentally clear, suppress negative emotions, and simply focus on combat action.
In our classrooms, lectures on total body fight physiology, combat brain physiology, combat ethics, personal integrity, honor, and leadership are discussed. On our training ground practical application is taught through controlled exercises, which have been proven to better control fight physiology. CADS training, allows the operator not only the freedom of physical movement but also mental clarity by channeling combat focus.
When a fighter’s ability to use his techniques fails him for any reason, that fighter must resort to back up techniques. If these fail as well, the fighter’s mental confidence begins to waiver and crumble. Thus, for every CADS / SHRIKE technique there is an escape, reversal, and lethality. This approach provides the operator a large variety of options from a single technique, and thus affords the operator greater confidence and control over himself and the mission.
